REP: Loose FloorsBio
‘Getting loose’ on the dancefloor is a state of mind, requiring complete external comfort in one’s immediate physical surroundings. If these conditions are achieved and the right senses are stimulated, it’s possibly to totally lose oneself in the moment, achieving a zen-like reality. For some this is a meditative mindfulness, yet for others it’s a mindless escape. Whatever our reasons and final destination, music and our club surroundings play a big part in shaping how our objectives are realised.
Loose Floors is not just a night where DJs play, but an entirely different approach to music and everything surrounding it. Formed from experimental discussions, turned into sessions between many Leeds based up and coming selectors who wish to challenge the status-quo in all its’ forms, Loose Floors represents everything experimental, leftfield, ambient, weird, thumping, primal, wonky, electric, and loose. We don’t restrict ourselves to the trivial confines of any genre, or even tempo. Anything goes, and the weirder the better. All of this is to create the right atmosphere and conditions physically, musically, sensually and in every way possible for everyone to experiment and enjoy both losing and then finding ourselves.
